Terms of Service
Effective: October 24, 2026. Last updated: October 24, 2026.
1. Who we are
HeyFiancé is a wedding planning app run by Merakite LLC, an Idaho limited liability company ("we", "us"). These terms cover the web app at app.heyfiance.com, the website at heyfiance.com, and the HeyFiancé apps for iPhone and Android (together, "HeyFiancé").
By creating an account or using HeyFiancé, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 to use HeyFiancé.
- An account is for one person. Use your own email address and keep it up to date, since that's where we send sign-in and receipt emails.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at admin@merakite.com if you think someone else has got into it.
- A wedding is shared by the people in it. Anyone you invite with a code can see and change that wedding's plans, guest list, budget, files and notes. Only invite people you trust with that.
3. What you're buying
HeyFiancé costs a one-time $39 per wedding. It isn't a subscription and nothing renews.
- One purchase unlocks one wedding, for everyone in it: both partners and anyone they invite.
- Access lasts for as long as we run HeyFiancé. If we ever stop, section 8 says what happens.
- We may change the price for new purchases. A price change never affects a wedding that's already paid for.
- We'll keep improving HeyFiancé, which means features may change. We won't take away the core of what you paid for: the quiz, decisions, tasks, budget, guests, vendors and moodboard.
4. Payment and refunds
You pay on our website, and Stripe processes the payment. We never see or store your full card number. The price at checkout includes any sales tax we're required to collect. Purchases happen only on the web: the HeyFiancé apps don't sell anything.
14-day refund, no questions asked. If HeyFiancé isn't for you, email admin@merakite.com within 14 days of buying and we'll refund the full $39 to your original payment method. Your bank may take 5–10 business days to show it.
After a refund, the wedding goes back to unpaid. Its data is handled as in section 8. After 14 days purchases aren't refundable, except where the law requires a refund.
5. Your content
Everything you put into HeyFiancé stays yours. That covers quiz answers, guest lists, budgets, vendor details, contracts and files, photos, saved images and notes.
You give us permission to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run HeyFiancé for you and the people in your wedding. That includes keeping backups, making image thumbnails and showing link previews. We don't sell your content. We don't use it to advertise to you, and we don't share it outside your wedding except as our Privacy Policy describes.
You're responsible for having the right to add what you add. That covers images saved from other sites, and other people's names, addresses and contact details on your guest and vendor lists. Saving an image for your own moodboard is fine. Uploading something you have no right to use isn't.
6. Using HeyFiancé fairly
Don't:
- upload anything illegal, hateful or harassing, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to get into weddings or accounts that aren't yours, or test, probe or get around our security;
- scrape, copy or resell HeyFiancé or its content, including the quiz, or use it to build a competing product;
- overload the service, or use bots or automated tools against it;
- share invite codes publicly, or use HeyFiancé to send spam.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why first.
7. The iPhone and Android apps
The HeyFiancé apps are free and are a way to sign in to an account you already have. Apple's and Google's own terms also apply to downloading and using them.
For the iPhone app, Apple requires the following:
- These terms are between you and Merakite LLC, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content.
- You may use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's Usage Rules allow.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for supporting and maintaining the app, and for any warranty that applies by law. If the app fails to meet such a warranty, you can tell Apple. Apple will refund the price you paid for the app, which is $0, and has no other warranty obligation.
- We, not Apple, handle any claims about the app: product liability, failing to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection, or a third party saying the app infringes their intellectual property.
- You confirm you aren't in a country under a US government embargo, and aren't on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Questions or complaints about the apps go to admin@merakite.com.
8. Leaving, deleting, and if we shut down
- Leaving a wedding. You can leave a wedding in Settings. The wedding and its data stay with the other people in it.
- Deleting your account. To delete your account, email us from the address on it. A button in Settings is on its way. We delete your account within 30 days. A wedding with nobody left in it is deleted along with everything in it, files included. Backups roll off within a further 30 days.
- After a refund. We delete the wedding's data 30 days after the refund, unless you buy again before then.
- If we shut HeyFiancé down, we'll email you at least 60 days ahead and give you a way to download your wedding's data first. If we shut down within 12 months of your purchase, we'll refund it in full.
9. What we can and can't promise
HeyFiancé is a planning tool, not a wedding planner, lawyer or financial adviser.
- Budget figures, suggested splits, task dates and per-head costs are estimates to plan with, not quotes.
- Anything about marriage licences, contracts or vendors is general guidance. Check the rules where you're marrying, and read your contracts yourself.
- We work to keep HeyFiancé available, accurate and secure, but we can't promise it will never be down or never have an error. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose, like signed contracts.
To the extent the law allows, HeyFiancé is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, Merakite LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. That includes lost data, lost deposits and missed vendor deadlines. Our total liability for any claim about HeyFiancé is limited to the amount you paid us for the wedding in question. Some places don't allow these limits, and there they apply only as far as the law allows.
10. Disputes, changes and contact
- Talk to us first. If something's wrong, email admin@merakite.com and give us 30 days to put it right before going further. Most things can be fixed with a refund or a reply.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Idaho, USA. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Idaho, or to small claims court where you live if it qualifies.
- Changes to these terms. If we make a material change, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Using HeyFiancé after that means you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can delete your account.
- The whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about HeyFiancé. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given it up.
